Angel @ 18 – Butuan City
Sunday, October 31st, 2010Bj Mae – Predebut – Xavier Estates Sports and Country Club, Cagayan de Oro
Tuesday, September 28th, 2010Mommy Jane’s baby is now a lady. Sweet Bj Mae turns 18 in November. She will show the world how she has blossomed into a beautiful princess. See how her beauty shined in spite of her shyness in front of the camera. We started shooting at around 3 pm, then after about 10 minutes it rained! It rained and rained and rained for more than an hour! Everybody was chasing the rain away, especially Mommy Jane
After what seemed to be an eternity, the rain finally stopped! Thank you, Lord!
It was so hard to shoot with the cloudy sky but we were able to pull it off. Great job Mae!
Special thanks to Ms. Alma Mae Roa of Cameron’s for the gowns and to Allan Sajulga for the makeup. See you all soon on Mae’s big day!
Ceniza + Tamayo – Surigao Wedding Photographer
Monday, August 30th, 2010Surigao is a long way from Cagayan de Oro but road trips are our favorite. Kim and Vanessa’s wedding was not the usual wedding for they had a lot of fun and surprises in store for their guests. Guests were overflowing from different parts of the Philippines and the world. Some of their relatives even came as far as Germany, Dubai and USA just to witness their union. Vanessa was a beautiful bride that day. Her simplicity combined with her beauty made her standout while Kim on the other hand was the dashing groom who is in comparison to his lovely bride.
All their hard work paid off. They told us they would only have a simple wedding but theirs was grand! They transformed Surigao’s Convention Center into a spectacular and awesome reception. At the entrance was a beautiful landscape with a flowing fountain that’s soothing to hear and look at and when you go inside the Convention Center, you’ll see different kinds of flowers and draperies that add beauty to the whole place. The stage was also decorated in a simple yet elegant setup that suited the bride and groom’s personalities. Both Kim and Vanessa were hands-on with the preparations. They wanted to make sure that everything’s perfect for their special day. Again, all their hard work really paid off.
I now share to you their wedding album. The resort they chose was breathtaking. I had a very hard time choosing which pictures to include because I wanted to include almost all of the images but I had to choose a few and it was a very, very hard task. Enjoy! “_)

Roel + Karen – Bohol Engagement Session
Tuesday, August 17th, 2010Aris + Gen – Siargao & Surigao Engagement Session
Sunday, August 8th, 2010Since time immemorial, I have always hated Physics. Well, too harsh, let me rephrase that: Physics has and will always be my least favorite subject. Better? Hehehe… I guess I’m no wizard or sorcerer because I can’t seem to connect with the subject. But for Aris and Gen, they eat, breathe, live and love Physics! Both are even PhD students in Pittsburgh, USA.
Aris is from Carnegie-Mellon doing research in High Energy Physics at Fermilab while Gen is from the University of Pittsburgh doing research on Damped Lymann-Alpha Systems, analyzing tens of thousands (!) of quasar spectra from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). She aims to be an astronomer in the near future. I wouldn’t be surprised if one day a star or a constellation will be named after her
Wonder how they met? Let me quote Gen’s story:
“We met in UP Diliman- at the National Institute of Physics as Physics undergraduates.. but the Lord has put things beautifully into place a little over three years ago… at the same time I was to leave the country for grad school … in other words, two years was essentially long distance.. (but even distance did not prevent us from watching a movie or an episode of a tv series simultaneously over skype!)” Gen is from Iligan City while Aris is from the beautiful island of Bohol.
Aside from loving Physics, both also love to watch tv series online through www.hulu.com. How I wish hulu permits ip addresses from the Philippines too! Not only that, Gen also loves to watch tv shows from the Philippines and she watches it online as well. Aris installed a virtual machine on her PC so she can watch at her heart’s content without worrying about any lurking virus. Anything about computers both hardware and software also tickles Aris’ fancy. He even has this website where he uploads all his work may it be about his computations or pictures of him and Gen.
Even if their world mostly revolves around their beloved Physics, both are fun and so pleasant to be with. Both have a kind heart who has their feet on the ground. Gen’s sweet and adorable while Aris is responsible and kind. Always making sure that everything is in place. Our trip to Surigao and Siargao was long and tiring but because of their company (with Gen’s parents too), it wasn’t as tiresome as it should be. When it was time for the photoshoot, they did their best to pose and follow each of our instructions. It wasn’t hard for us to capture their moments because both are just natural models! The emotions they showed were so real that even their directed poses seemed like candid shots.
To Aris and Gen, thank you so much for the wonderful trip. Gen thank you so much for the information you provided for our introduction. I think this is the longest by far! Hahaha.. To the couple’s friends and family, here are the pictures you’ve all been waiting for.. Enjoy!
Angel – Butuan City Pre-Debut Photography
Monday, August 2nd, 2010Meet our beautiful debutant, Angelie Rose Talaugon Cabuluna. It was a whirlwind of events when we met her and her family. We were on our way to our Surigao wedding for Kim and Vanessa when Ms. Darling Shekkar of Blissful Moments called to ask if we can meet her and a client. When we arrived at Butuan at about 8pm, we were already starving so we went straight to Aling Cora for a sumptuous dinner (Thank you Mark and Barbz Yu.) We then asked if we can meet at the same place. Luckily, both Ms. Darling and the clients obliged. There we met the very much pregnant Ms. Darling (congratulations!), Angel’s mom (who was so sweet and adorable) and a very stylish 17-year old Angel. So fashionable that even right then and there, we can already have our photoshoot!
After all the business talk, we agreed that we would come back after our Surigao wedding and have Angel’s pre-debut photoshoot. They didn’t have time coz Angel will have to go back to Manila for school at the Adventist University of the Philippines as a 2nd-year Nursing student. It was a Friday night when we met and they have to fly back to Manila at 11am on a Sunday.
After our Saturday wedding, we then went straight back to Butuan and spent the night there. Early Sunday morning was our agreed shoot. But like any other day on a rainy July, the sun didn’t grace us with its power, so we just had the shoot inside their house and at Dotties Hotel. It rained the entire time so when we finished indoors, we coyly asked Angel if she can play in the rain and we were so pleased when she said yes! Her mother, cousins and friends were there to support her and it was a fun shoot amidst the rain. Rain didn’t stop us from having fun “_) Here are her pictures that day. Enjoy!
Davao: Creative Lighting Photography Workshop
Sunday, August 1st, 2010It gives me much pleasure to be able to share my knowledge in photography to Kagay-anons but it also gives me elation to be invited to become a speaker at a photography workshop outside the City of Golden Friendship, this time in Davao City. I have conducted workshops in Surigao (organized by Pancho Avelino and Reynan Tan) and at Cebu (organized by Michol Sanchez and Danny Ybanez). Both were successful and I even went back to Surigao for another workshop.. hope to see Cebuanos and Surigaonons again soon! “_)
The workshop in Davao organized by Bryan Jimenez together with the Department of Education – Division of Tagum, City of Tagum Tourism Council and Pixelstudio Photography and Film Making will be on September 18-19, 2010 at the Department of Education Function Hall, Energy Park, Apokon, Tagum City. Two whole days of fun with lights since the workshop will mostly cover the techniques and tricks on how to play with lights both ambient and artificial.
I can’t wait for September. I can’t wait to see thirty (30) eager participants who share my passion in photography.
This is the official poster for the workshop made by the organizers. For more information please call 084-216-1488, 09064224361 and 09198912790.
