Davao: Creative Lighting Photography Workshop

Sunday, August 1st, 2010

It gives me much pleasure to be able to share my knowledge in photography to Kagay-anons but it also gives me elation to be invited to become a speaker at a photography workshop outside the City of Golden Friendship, this time in Davao City. I have conducted workshops in Surigao (organized by Pancho Avelino and Reynan Tan) and at Cebu (organized by Michol Sanchez and Danny Ybanez). Both were successful and I even went back to Surigao for another workshop.. hope to see Cebuanos and Surigaonons again soon! “_)

The workshop in Davao organized by Bryan Jimenez together with the Department of Education – Division of Tagum, City of Tagum Tourism Council and Pixelstudio Photography and Film Making will be on September 18-19, 2010 at the Department of Education Function Hall, Energy Park, Apokon, Tagum City. Two whole days of fun with lights since the workshop will mostly cover the techniques and tricks on how to play with lights both ambient and artificial.

I can’t wait for September. I can’t wait to see thirty (30) eager participants who share my passion in photography.

This is the official poster for the workshop made by the organizers. For more information please call 084-216-1488, 09064224361 and 09198912790.

Mark + Sam – Siargao Engagement Session – Club Tara

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

If I didn’t know “opposites attract,” I’d change profession and be a theoretician. This bubbly couple, Mark Yu and Samantha Sancho, are a total opposite but they do compliment each other. Mark is the strong, adventurous dare devil, while Sam is the delicate flower, who is ever so sweet and barely gets shaken. I don’t know if she ever gets mad or angry at something.

We were at a location, at a cave in particular, and we were all stunned at how she is afraid of closed spaces. She cried like a baby and we thought, “There goes our beautiful day. Our bride won’t smile after this.” But we were all surprised at how she just brushed it off after a few minutes. She was herself again, the beautiful bride-to-be who’s ever so pleasant and adorable. Mark was there to pacify her; he gave her love, comfort and assurance that everything’s going to be alright.

Mark is so lucky to have Sam and vice versa. Mark is Sam’s prince who will be there for her and I think, will even die for her. Every girl’s dream. Sam on the other hand, has found her prince charming, who rescued her from the tower of lonesomeness. And with this, they’ll both live happily ever after.

See the love they both share with these pictures. I didn’t have a hard time at all. Both of them are a natural.

Due to insistent demand, we’re having a Part 3 of Jiva Jimenez’s Photography Workshop. This workshop is for beginners and for those who want to refresh their knowledge in photography. We’ll be discussing the basics in photography but to add spice for the participants, we’ve invited a few models to pose for them.  We’ll also be having some of our previous participants and this time, we’ll be teaching them something advanced to challenge what they’ve previously learned.

A few slots are still open. Register now “_) You may visit the studio or call (8822) 727357 and/or 09179324418.

Joanne + Joel – Cagayan de Oro Engagement Session

Sunday, June 27th, 2010
No matter what we make them do, Joanne and Joel are game with whatever as long as their pictures will come out extra-ordinary. Joel made it so easy by singing songs while acting out each scene and Joanne would kid that her fiance won’t make it as a model but as a singer!
We squeezed in everything for a whole day since both of them are working in Singapore and only have a few days to prepare before going back to work. Fingers crossed, we may also have another e-session or postnup in Singapore! Woot woot!
